How do I open a port for InfoFlo Server in Windows Firewall?

  1. Port 8082 to be opened on the server in order for InfoFlo Server to communicate with the InfoFlo Clients. The following instructions will show you how to do this!
  2. Click Start -> Control Panel.
  3. Click System and Security (if applicable).
  4. Click ‘Windows Firewall’.
  5. Click ‘Advanced Settings’
  6. Click ‘Inbound Rules’
  7. Click ‘New Rule…’
  8. Select ‘Port – Rule that controls connections for a TCP or UDP port.’ and click Next.
  9. TCP as selected by default is correct. Enter 8082 in the text field next to ‘Specific local ports:’. Click Next.
  10. Select ‘Allow the connection’. Click Next.
  11. Click ‘Outbound Rules’
  12. Select the correct profile for this rule and click next. (Default is okay in most cases)
  13. Enter a name for your Inbound Rule. Click Finish.
  14. Repeat the process for Outbound Rule.
  15. Port 8082 has now been opened in Windows Firewall.
